Big Data Analytics and Management Laboratory

The Big Data Analytics and Management Laboratory, directed by Dr. Farhana H. Zulkemine, aims to address both the challenges and opportunities presented by Big Data. On the challenges end, the lab has a clear focus on data management and its difficulties, as well as effective data analysis. Data analysis is also an opportunity: one of the lab’s research goals is to improve upon machine learning to develop autonomous systems and decision-making aids. The lab also draws on cognitive computing techniques to develop computational tools and software to advance human cognition, which can be applied to education, video games, and perception more generally.
